Directed by: Jane Spasikj
Author: Jane Spasikj ((after the motives of the novel "Sidarta" by Herman Hese)
The play “Once, I built a world” was based on the novel “Siddhartha” by Herman Hesse.
Through the perspective of a distant relationship between a father and a son, the author Jane Spasikj tries to shed new light on various developmental stages of life that he finds to be crucial, and the consequential aspect of the issue of personal choice.
Can a person escape the choices of their ancestors, and how much of our choices and decisions in life are our own? Are there any universal values left, or they all became individual? Can you perceive a lifetime as one journey with a purpose, or does each stage have its own life and meaning? Do any of these questions have a definitive answer? Should they remain open?
The play was developed through a joint effort in an experimental process with the actors form the Children and Youth Theatre- Skopje, Dragan Dovlev, Nenad Mitevski, Simona Spirovska, Natasha Petrovikj, Bojan Kirkovski, and the youngest cast member, a guest in the ensemble, Mihail Stojanovski, only nine years of age.
