THE CONCEPT OF THE FESTIVAL
This initiative to make a new theater festival, focused on the world children’s professional theater production, aims to promote new content, forms, events and trends in the sphere of children’s theater today.
Conceptually speaking, the festival will develop in two directions. The first one is towards promotion of new world trends in reinventing of children’s theater through hosting theater shows from abroad and one Macedonian show within the MAIN COMPETITIVE program. After the selection stage, a committee will decide what shows will take part at the festival.
The second direction is towards creating professional art potential through participation but also towards involving as many professionals as possible in this specific field. This will be achieved through workshops in the field of children’s theater production aimed at the students from the Macedonian theater faculties and through holding debates, panel discussions on various topics referring to children’s theater production today and promotion of other art forms in the field of creative works for children and young people.
FESTIVAL PROGRAM
- MAIN COMPETITIVE PROGRAM that will encompass theater shows from around the world that will be previously selected by the festival committee. The festival awards will be decided by an international jury which consists of distinguished individuals in the sphere of children’s theater production.
- ADDITIONAL PROGRAM: workshops, promotions of children’s literature, panel discussions.

- AWARD FOR THE BEST THEATER DIRECTOR
- AWARD FOR THE BEST FEMALE ACTRESS
- AWARD FOR THE BEST MALE ACTOR
- AWARD FOR THE SCENIC DESIGN
- AWARD FOR THE COSTUME DESIGN
- THE EXPERT JURY OF THE COMMISSION HAS THE RIGHT TO AWARD SPECIAL PRIZES
THE AIMS OF THE FESTIVAL
This festival is committed to the children’s and young people audience in Skopje and the Republic of North Macedonia, but also to the professional artists that make children’s theater plays.
The main mission of this festival is to promote quality, diversity and innovations in children’s theater within a competitive program.
It is of greatest importance to promote children’s theater production as the important driver of cultural and artistic changes in our country through this festival. Along with the adjoining program and professional workshops, we will be creating space for active participants in children’s theater and we will create more space for the domestic audience to enjoy different aesthetics of children’s and youth shows.
IMPACT
The festival will improve the development and popularization of children’s theater in all its forms and contents. The big audience that is usually the case with children’s theater plays, will have the opportunity to find out the new techniques, concepts and reinvention of children’s theater plays up close and personal.
This festival will be a perfect chance for international promotion of the Macedonian children’s theater plays. Along with the exchange of experiences, interlinking of international associations and platforms, the Macedonian children’s theater will reach its deserved place on the European and the global cultural map.
